Summer bodies are made in the winter

Even if we don't know yet whether it will be possible to enjoy the summer in faraway holiday destinations this year, one thing is sure - the temperatures will rise and at some point, the day will come when you take your swimwear out of the box! The saying "summer bodies are made in the winter" is justified, and there is still time to lose a few kilos of winter flab. Sport is certainly not only crucial for weight loss, but the right diet is the key to success - probably for this reason, there are about 100 different diets. Today we would like to introduce you to one of the currently most popular diets called IIFYM – additional, in the video contribution Miriam also explains to you what you have to pay special attention to, no matter which diet you choose.

IIFYM

Admittedly - IIFYM (if it fits your macros) requires a certain amount of discipline, and you have to calculate your nutritional requirements beforehand. Especially in the beginning, weighing your food can not only get on your nerves but also cause pitying looks from your partner, friends and relatives (and PLEASE - don't get the idea of unpacking the scales in front of your grandma, you don't do that and violate every ethos).

What to do?

Step 1 - get an app, many offer enough features even in the free version, for example, FDDB or MyFitnessPal. Step 2 - calculate your basic needs for protein, carbohydrates and fats. Step 3 - enter the data into the app, choose a calorie deficit that fits your daily routine (pencil pusher or construction worker?5 times training or 3 times training per week?) Step 4 - Weigh out food, enter values into the app That's it - not that difficult, is it? Of course, especially in the beginning, you might be in for some nasty surprises and have to eat wild combinations of 800 grams of turkey breast, 250 grams of low-fat curd cheese and a child's handful of rice plus 150 grams of spinach in the evening, but as time goes by you will learn to assess the nutrients in your food better, get to know the secret stars (Hello Udon noodles) and find it much more comfortable. The benefits of IIFYM are clear - there are no prohibitions, and you can eat anything as long as you don't exceed your daily macronutrient allowance. This also can sometimes lead to you beaming with joy in the evening when you realise that you still have enough carbohydrates to eat two handfuls of gummy bears! With IIFYM, you should also keep an eye on the micronutrients to not forget to eat a balanced and healthy diet, despite the temptation that this diet form brings with it!
